Hurt & Forbes Insurance Agency was founded in Laconia, NH by George Hurt in 1965. Hurt & Forbes grew to become a leading Lakes Region insurance agency under his guidance. In 1998 George Hurt sold the agency to Michael McCarthy who has continued a pattern of growth of the business, adding a second location in Manchester in 1999, and building the new state of the art office in Laconia in 2006.

Today, Hurt and Forbes Insurance Agency serves the insurance needs of approximately 3500 individuals and families, and the insurance needs of 200+ businesses in New Hampshire.
